Abby developed a limp in late April 2005. We had taken her for a long walk on a beautiful spring evening, and it turned out to be the last time she was able to go on a walk. On May 20 I took her to the vet for a regular check up, and we discussed the limp. X-rays were done and she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. She was started on pain meds at that time. We had an oncology consult at CSU 4 days later. They confirmed our vet's diagnosis and changed her meds to Tramadol. Due to financial circumstances, we were not able to pursue amputation for Abby. After much deliberating, we decided to release Abby before the pain became unbearable for her. She made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge on June 1, 2005.
