Abby was our first Pyrenees and a total joy. At age 6 we decided to get a 2nd pyr and adopted Jasper. Three weeks after he arrived Abby started limping on her right rear leg. We thought she had just been playing with the new puppy way to hard.
We went to the vets with fears of a sprain and came away with a fear of cancer. There was a shadow on the xray but it was in a different place than the usual occurence of bone cancer.
After going to a vet oncologist it was determined that she had a rare multifocal osteosarcoma in
2 separate legs with no option for surgery. We attempted to achieve pain control but within 3 weeks of first limping she could no longer walk.
On Feb 13, 2009 our beautiful girl went to the bridge to meet with all her little friends that went before and all of her new dog friends from "The Porch".
